Wheatley Harbour is a non-profit corporation home to the largest freshwater commercial fishing fleet in the world with approximately 30 fishing tugs.
The Wheatley Harbour is located on the north shore of Lake Erie in Wheatley, Ontario at the western basin about 55 miles east of Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. Wheatley Harbour is near the eastern base of Point Pelee. We are located on Kay Avenue, just outside of downtown Wheatley - a perfect fishing location!
The harbour has a launch ramp for pleasure craft that is well protected from the open lake. From May 5th to Labour Day these waters provide ample opportunities for World Class Recreational Fishing. Starting with the mouth watering yellow perch in May and then continuing on at the end of June the Steelhead (Rainbow Trout) arrive and provide about 7 weeks of great fishing.
