The Wheatley Harbour is located on the north shore of Lake Erie in the Province of Ontario at the western basin about 55 miles east of Windsor, On and Detroit, Mich.  Wheatley Harbour is near the eastern base of Point Pelee.  The harbour is home to the largest freshwater commercial fishing fleet in the world with approximately 40 fishing tugs.  
    Wheatley Harbour is a non-profit corporation. Our executive board consists of 9 members and the Harbour Manager. The President of the 2018 season is Todd Loop. The Directors include Frank Baptista, Gerry Hatt, Willy Cronheimer, Jeffery Bowman, Steve Derbyshire, Rich Collard, Vald Demelo and Jack Liddle. The Harbour Manager is Al Matthews 

    The harbour has a launch ramp for pleasure craft that is well protected from the open lake.  From May 5 to Labour Day these waters provide ample opportunities for World Class Recreational Fishing.  Starting with the mouth watering yellow perch in May and then continuing on at the end of June the Steelhead (Rainbow Trout) arrive and provide about 7 weeks of great fishing.  During this time you can also catch loads of Walleye (Yellow Pickerel) to satisfy your appetite.  Bass are also available. 
    The daily ramp fee is $15 in and out or a seasonal pass can be purchased for $150. The harbour also has a large parking lot for vehicles and boat trailers.  Recreational berthage is available on a first come basis.  Rates are as follow:  Daily: $1.25/ft. +HST, Monthly: $12/ft. +HST, and Seasonal: $33/ft. + HST.

Please note:  When approaching the harbour entrance use caution because sand building occurs.  Contact local fishers or a Commercial Fishing vessel via VHF on channel 6 or 19 for more information.
