ATTENTION BOATERS

  Repairs to the east and west docks at the Wheatley Harbour public boat launch have been delayed due to extremely high water levels. Launching is still possible as dock structures are present on the east side of the launch. Repairs will be ongoing as water conditions improve. 

The fee for launching is $15.00 daily and $150.00 for a seasonal pass. Check our Services page for additional prices and services.

It is currently 18 degrees  this morning with wind speeds at 15km/h east. It is also currently raining. Later today, temperatures will increase to 22 degrees with wind speeds at 10km/h southwest. Chance of showers this afternoon. 

FISHING REPORT:

Few boaters have gone out today and yesterday, with most saying it is too rough to fish. Very few boats were able to fish, out of the boats that have caught something today and yesterday, the best report is 6 pickerel out east.

It is currently 21 degrees this morning and wind speeds are 36 km/h south. It is expected to start raining around 8:00am and continue until 2:00pm. Temperatures will increase to about 24 degrees (32 degrees with humidity) and winds gusts will get up to 44 km/h southwest. Strong wind warning still in effect.

There is currently a Severe Thunderstorm Watch and a Squall Warning in effect. Wind southwest 10 knots increasing to south 15 this afternoon with gusts to 50 near thunderstorms. Radar images show a severe storm moving east which will affect Point Pelee/Wheatley around 3:30pm.

Update on Lake Conditions: 

Boaters have noted that the water is choppy further out on the lake, with waves between 3.5 - 4.5 feet. Many have stated that the water has gotten more choppy as the day has progressed.

FISHING REPORT: people fishing for pickerel are still mostly catching their limits (or close to it) and rainbow limits are starting to come in more frequently as well. Most fishing is still occuring east in about 50-65 ft of water for the rainbow.

There is very low visibility at the harbour and on the lake this morning due to fog patches.

-Many pickerel limits being caught. Most anglers are catching 1-4 rainbow per boat. Largest Rainbow yesterday was 32 4/16 inch. Most popular spot is east to about 50-65ft of water.

Fishing report: people have been catching their pickerel limits straight out from the harbour in 55-65ft of water and east anywhere from 3 -10 miles. Rainbow are mainly east in about 56-65 feet of water.

There is a chance for thunderstorms that are expected to start around 4:00pm and continue throughout the night.

Fishing report: nearly everyone coming in is catching their pickerel limits. A few people have been getting 3 or 4 rainbow straight out in 65ft.

The lake is relatively rough this morning and with south-east winds approaching, boating conditions may not be ideal. It is expected to remain partly cloudy for the rest of the day and temperatures should increase to about 29 degrees.

Fishing report: a total of 6 pickerel limits and 10 rainbow caught yesterday at about 5 miles east and 60 ft straight out.
